GREENSBORO, N.C. — Through careful planning, dedicated employees and a commitment to excellence, Machine Specialties, Inc. (MSI), a leading contract machining and metal finishing specialist, ended 2007 by earning Nadcap certification. The company became one of only three in the state to receive Nadcap certification for chemical processing at its Greensboro, N.C. based manufacturing facility.Nadcap is the leading, worldwide cooperative program of major companies designed to manage a cost effective consensus approach to special processes and products in order to ensure continual improvements within the aerospace industry.

To be competitive in the aerospace market, a growing company has to strive to achieve the highest level of quality in all aspects. MSI chose to acquire AS9100 registration and to further their ability to perform aerospace processes, pursued Nadcap accreditation for Chemical Processing.

New to MSI and part of the Nadcap team, Robert H. Probert is an industry expert with 57 years of experience in chemical processing and author of the book, Aluminum How To: The Chromating — Anodizing — Hardcoating Handbook. In addition, MSI also recruited Larry Walker, a Finishing Engineer with 30 years of special process experience and more than 11 years of Nadcap experience. As experts in the industry, Robert and Larry have been a compliment to MSI's established team of Finishing Technicians, Quality Manager and Vice President of Operations, Rebecca Bush.

MSI received its Nadcap accreditation on its very first audit, well above the industry's average. In addition to its recent Nadcap certification, MSI has also earned ISO 9001:200 and AS9100 Rev. B certifications (March, 2006) for its manufacturing process of precision machined components and assemblies for commercial machinery, medical and aerospace applications.

"Our achievement of Nadcap certification is a direct result of our dedicated employees who are committed to manufacturing the highest quality of metal components from part to finish. Our next step is to achieve certification with Airbus and Boeing," said Robert Simmons, president of MSI. To move further toward our Nadcap goals, Rebecca Bush, Vice President of Operations, announced the team's plans to add Nadcap accreditation for MSI's nondestructive testing in the liquid penetrant and magnetic particle methods.
